Ben Staupe

Ben Staupe joined the women’s volleyball staff in 2010 as an assistant coach. He was named associate head coach prior to the 2013 season. Staupe specializes in training the setters and defensive specialists.
  
Before bringing his coaching skills to UW-Whitewater, Staupe had a successful career as the head coach at Rock Valley (Ill.) College from 2002-09. During his tenure, Staupe accumulated an outstanding record of 202-91 (.694).  He led his team to four conference championships (including three straight from 2007-09), two district titles and two regional titles. The Golden Eagles finished the 2004 and 2009 campaigns ranked No. 1 in the nation and finished as national runner-up finish in 2004.

Along with team success, Staupe was recognized as Coach of the Year on nine occasions, including American Volleyball Coaches Association Midwest Region Coach of the Year in 2004. He coached seven NJCAA All-Americans, 21 all-region honorees and 34 all-conference selections, including one conference player of the year. Emphasizing the academic part of the student-athlete, Staupe coached six NJCAA Academic All-Americans during his eight seasons at Rock Valley. 
 
In addition to his time spent on a college campus, Staupe also worked at Club Fusion Marengo and Club Fusion Rockford, and served as director of the Starz Volleyball Club. Staupe has overseen and worked various camps in Illinois and Wisconsin since 1999. 

Staupe earned a master's in Human Performance from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and added a CSCS (Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist) from the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
