Coach Alayna Jansky-Gehl: My Story
From the moment I first set foot on the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater campus, I knew the trajectory of my career would continue in the sport of volleyball.
My journey with this school has taken me from the court to the sidelines, and it’s a journey I cherish deeply. I’ve always been driven by a passion for the sport and a desire to make a meaningful impact on the program. From competing against some of the best in the nation to earning accolades for my performance on the court, every moment has been a stepping stone to where I am today.
And now, as a coach, I have the privilege of contributing to the program that has given me so much.

The Warhawk Way
---
Being a part of this university is not just a job for me — it’s a calling.
What drew me to this position at UW-Whitewater was the winning culture that permeates the program and athletic department. Being surrounded by incredible athletes and coaches who share the same commitment to excellence is a dream come true.
As a player and now coach for this program, I can confidently say that it holds a special place in my heart. It’s something I want to continue to be a part of.
I am incredibly grateful and thankful to be back coaching alongside Stacy; someone I greatly admire and respect. It’s an honor to be working with such dedicated and talented individuals who share the same passion for the sport.
Together, we will continue to build upon the success of this program and contribute to its continued growth. I am blessed to be back in a place that has shaped me into the person and coach I am today.

Relating to the players
---
I believe the ability to connect with the players on a deeper level is what sets me apart as a coach.
Having played at the Division I level, I bring a unique perspective to the coaching staff and program. I have had the privilege of learning from numerous coaches throughout my career, each imparting valuable knowledge and insights. Furthermore, as a former player who has been in the players’ shoes recently, I can relate to their experiences and understand what it takes to win and thrive in the face of adversity.
As a well-rounded player with experience playing in multiple positions, I have a unique ability to coach nearly every position on the court.
