Alex Buchman

Alex Buchman enters his first year as an assistant coach for the UW-Whitewater men’s soccer team. He started his role in January 2017.
 
After transferring from Millikin (Ill.) University, Buchman was a goalkeeper for the Warhawks from 2013-15.
 
Buchman garnered National Soccer Coaches Association of America third team All-Wisconsin State accolades and the team’s Co-Most Valuable Player award in 2015 after posting a 13-4-2 record with six shutouts and a 0.93 goals against average as the team’s starting keeper. He was also a three-year member of the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll and was involved in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Warhawk Leadership Academy and the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
 
UW-Whitewater reached the second round of the NCAA Tournament in Buchman’s last two seasons with the team. He shut out Rose-Hulman (Ind.) in the first round of the 2015 NCAA Tournament to help the Warhawks advance.
 
A native of Waterford, Wis., Buchman served as an assistant girls soccer coach at his alma mater, Waterford Union High School, for three seasons (2014-16).
 
Buchman currently works as a business advisor to Nu-Way Laundry & Rentals in Escanaba, Mich., and as a Brew Crew Member for the Milwaukee Brewers.
 
Buchman graduated from UW-Whitewater with a bachelor of business administration in general management in December 2015. He is currently pursuing a master’s in professional development (higher education leadership) at UW-Whitewater.
