Abe Nelson begins his third year as an assistant coach for the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's soccer program in 2022. He will work primarily with the team's goalkeepers.
Entering his 11th season in coaching, Nelson has worked at the high school level for boys and girls at Mukwonago High School and Janesville Parker High School. He has also coached for Rock Soccer Club and the Rockford Raptors in the State Premier League and Midwest Regional League, respectively.
Nelson has served a staff coach for the Wisconsin Olympic Development program for the past three years and is currently a head coach for the boys program.
Nelson owns a USSF "D" National License and a Goalkeeping Level 1 Diploma.
Nelson is currently working toward a master's in education with an emphasis in curriculum and instruction at UW-Whitewater.
