Steve Dinkel joined the UW-Whitewater coaching staff in 2001 as the offensive line coach and run game coordinator, as well as working with special teams. He now serves as the team's offensive coordinator. Dinkel is a graduate of UW- River Falls, where as a player he played on four conference championship teams with the Falcons.
Prior to accepting his present position, Dinkel served as the head football coach at Jefferson High School (WI) for ten years. During his tenure with the Eagles, he guided Jefferson to a 60-36 record. In the process, the Eagles won a state championship, and made three state play-off appearances. While coaching at Whitewater, Dinkel has helped develop thirteen All-Conference and seven All-Americans at the offensive line position. Max Sakellaris earned the honor of Don Hansen’s Football Gazette Offensive lineman of the year in 2006. Dinkel earned his master’s degree from the University of Wisconsin- Madison.
Dinkel teaches at Jefferson High School while coaching with the Warhawks. He resides in Jefferson with his wife, Cathi and their two daughters Anna and Jenna.
