Ryan Givens enters his third season as running backs coach for the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater football team in 2018. He is in his fourth year on the staff.
The Warhawks led the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference in rushing offense in 2018 as running backs Alex Peete (1,368 yards) and Ronny Ponick (890 yards) spearheaded the team's attack. Peete was named a second team All-American by D3football.com following the season.
In 2017, Drew Patterson rushed for 1,000+ yards for the second straight season and was named first team All-WIAC.
A three-year running back for the Warhawks from 2012-14, Givens was a part of back-to-back WIACÂ championship and national title teams in 2013 and 2014. He finished with more than 1,000 all-purpose yards and eight touchdowns for his career.
A Milwaukee native, Givens graduated from UW-Whitewater in 2015 with a bachelor's in physical education (health, human performance and recreation) and a minor in recreation leisure studies.
