Steve Bartlein

Steve Bartlein enters his sixth season as an assistant coach for the UW-Whitewater baseball team in 2022-23.

Bartlein was a member of the Warhawks' baseball team from 2010-13, helping the team win two Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championships and one WIAC Tournament title and reach the NCAA Tournament four times, including an appearance in the Division III World Series in 2011.
 
A two-year starting infielder, Bartlein garnered first team All-WIAC accolades in 2013 after batting .366 with seven doubles, four homeruns and 38 runs batted in. He was a two-time WIAC All-Sportsmanship Team selection.
 
Bartlein most recently coached baseball at Brookfield East High School, serving as the head varsity coach in 2017. Prior to that he served as head junior varsity coach in 2014, varsity assistant coach in 2015 and 2016 for Brookfield Central High School. He was also an assistant coach at Carroll University during the 2016 and 2017 seasons, working as an infield/hitting coach.
 
After earning his Bachelor's in Special Education from UW-Whitewater in December 2013, Bartlein served as a Special Education teacher at Brookfield East through the 2016-17 school year. He completed his master of education in professional studies (MSE-PD) with an emphasis in health, human performance and recreation at UW-Whitewater in August 2018.
 
Bartlein is married to Siri Bartlein (formerly Wischmann), who was a four-year member of and former All-American for the UW-Whitewater Gymnastics team from 2010-13.
