Justin Mortensen enters his second season as an assistant coach for the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater baseball team in 2017-18.
Mortensen was a four-year member of the Warhawks from 2011-14. A left-handed pitcher, Mortensen pitched 74 innings in 28 appearances, including six starts, for his career. He was a part of two Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference regular season championships (2013, 2014), one WIAC Tournament title (2014) and four NCAA Tournament appearances, including the 2014 national championship and another bid to the Division III World Series in 2011.
A native of Hartland, Wis., Mortensen graduated with a bachelor's in physical education from UW-Whitewater in 2014.
