St. Thomas used the long ball to take an early lead in the eleventh game of the Midwest Regional hosted by UW-Whitewater. Three homeruns, equaling the number put out in the first ten games of the regional combined, in the first four batters of the game gave the Tommies a 3-0 lead after just half an inning, enough to take the game. UST’s big inning came in the top of the fifth where 11 Tommies crossed the plate.
The next game in the Whitewater regional is an elimination contest between UW-Whitewater and Aurora.
