Warhawks Selected to finish 4th in WIAC Preseason Poll

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's soccer team was selected to finish 4th in the conference in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) preseason poll, voted on by WIAC Head Coaches and Sports Information Directors.

The Warhawks will battle in a competitive WIAC race yet again, coming off a four-way tie for second place a season ago. Head Coach Dan Montanye enters his fourth season at the helm, returning a nearly full squad from a season ago. UWW returns 23 letterwinners, including 10 out of the starting 11 from a season ago.

Brooklynn Carlson (Crystal Lake, Ill./Crystal Lake Central), a junior forward, headlines the returning offense. Carlson is the highest returning scorer, tallying 6 goals and 2 assists in 2025. Carlson earned a 2025 WIAC Honorable Mention nod, playing in 19 of 20 games.

Anna Gunderson (Mukwonago, Wis./Mukwonago), a senior defender, also earned an Honorable Mention on the 2025 All-Conference team. Gunderson started in all 20 games a season ago. Berkley Dylla (Wheaton, Ill./Wheaton-Warrenville South) and Isabella Torres (Joliet, Ill./Central) also return to bolster the defensive line with valuable experience from last season. Dylla started in all 20 games and Torres tallied over 1300 minutes as a sophomore last season.

The midfield will be driven by 2024 All-WIAC Honorable Mention Jasmine Wilson (Sussex, Wis./Sussex-Hamilton), Rowan Severson (Mount Horeb, Wis./Mount Horeb) and Rachel Cvikel (Franklin, Wis./Saint Thomas More). The three midfielders combined for 4 goals and 7 assists in 2025.

The Warhawks begin their 2026 season with a four-game road stretch, beginning on Tuesday, September 1st against Concordia-Chicago. The Warhawks will make their home opener on September 11th against Grinnell. UWW will begin the WIAC season on the road against UW-River Falls on Saturday, October 3rd.
