Softball Wraps Up Florida Trip with Two Run-Rule Wins

Clermont, Fla. -- The UW-Whitewater softball team wrapped up its 2026 Florida trip with an offensive onslaught Saturday. The Warhawks scored 27 runs on 30 hits in just 10 innings to secure a pair of run-rule wins.

Game One: UWW 12, Kalamazoo 0

Warhawk pitchers Madi DeBennette (Wadsworth, Ill./Carmel Catholic) and Aubrey Lepak (Lake Mills, Wis./Lake Mills) combined to toss five innings of one-hit ball in the shutout. DeBennette picked up the win in the circle striking out four without issuing a free pass in four innings of work. Lepak sent the Hornets back to the dugout in order in the final frame tallying one strikeout in three batters faced.

On the offensive side, 20 Warhawks saw action. Keira Jarrett (Evergreen Park, Ill./Mother McAuley) and Rachel Radish (Merton, Wis./Arrowhead) were perfect at the plate to bolster the hit parade. The duo each went 3-for-3 combining for three RBI and two runs scored.

Game Two: Farmingdale State 1, UWW 15

The final game of the Florida slate saw 24 Warhawks take the field. Kaitlyn Marsh (Des Plaines, Ill./Maine West) tossed the first three innings to pick up the win. She struck out two while allowing just two hits along the way. Olivia Perez (Bridgeview, Ill./Argo Community) and Lepak came in for the fourth and fifth innings respectively. The pair no hit the Rams combining for a pair of strikeouts.

Offensively, Bella Eggert (Carol Stream, Ill./Glenbard North) went 3-for-3 in the batter's box with two runs scored to pace UWW.

UW-Whitewater will head to Carthage Saturday, March 28 for a twinbill starting at 1 PM.
