PLATTEVILLE, WI — The University of Wiscosnin-Whitewater men;s soccer (10-2-6, 2-0-3) played UW-Platteville (9-4-4, 4-0-1) to a 2-2 tie on Friday. Aidian Martin (Menomonee Falls, Wis./Menomonee Falls) recorded a brace to help the Warhawks secure a first round bye in the WIAC Tournament.

UWW struck first in the 18th minute, as Aidian Martin (Menomonee Falls, Wis./Menomonee Falls) scored off a Liam Treacy (Frankfurt, Ill./Lincoln-Way East) assist for a 1-0 lead.

Earlier pressure  in the half included a Kian Delaney (Oak Forest, Ill./Victor J Andrew) shot saved by Connor Waite and a Tyler Chrisman (Lemont, Ill./Lemont Township) attempt before the Warhawks broke through.

The Pioneers answered in the 24th minute and moved ahead in the 35th, leaving UWW to play from a 2-1 deficit. The closing stretch grew physical, with five fouls between the teams in the final 10 minutes. Chrisman put another shot wide in the 43rd minute before UWW went into halftime down 2-1.

Down by a goal after the break, the Warahwks generated multiple chances with Lorin Baettig (Gettnau, Switzerland/Kantonsschule Willisau) forcing a save at 48:02, Mitchell Tackney (Dubuque, Iowa/Dubuque Hempstead) missing high, Baettig sending another shot left and Nil Calvo Alsina (Barcelona, Spain/Parkview) putting an attempt on target at 60:02.

The match grew more physical later in the half, with UWW playing through fouls while the Pioneers pressed late.

Austin Waite (Naperville, Ill./Naperville Central) made saves on Caden Wits and Justin Williams, UWW also got a team save on Alex Miczek's 86:56 shot to help secure the draw.
