2025 WSOC Season Preview

2025 WSOC Preview: UWW picked to finish 6th in the WIAC

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's soccer team was selected to finish sixth in the WIAC in the preseason poll. The polls were voted on by the conference's head coaches and sports information directors.

Head Coach Dan Montanye enters his third season at the helm of the Warhawk program. Coach Montanye went 5-9-5 in his first season, then improved to 6-9-6 record during the 2024 season.

Heading into the 2025 season, the Warhawks will look to replace a departing senior class that made up for over 70% of the scoring from the previous season.

Notable returners include forward Jasmine Wilson (Sussex, Wis./Sussex-Hamilton), an All-WIAC Honorable Mention from 2024. Wilson is the highest returning scorer with 8 points (3 goals, 2 assists). Also returning on the offensive side, Brooklyn Carlson is back for her second year. As a freshman, Carlson played in 20 games with nearly 600 minutes of field time.

On the backline, Rachel Cvikel (Franklin, Wis./Saint Thomas More) and Isabella Torres (Plainfield, Ill./Central) both return after playing in 19 and 20 games, respectively, as freshman. Cvikel, playing both defender and mid-fielder, was responsible for the game tying goal against UW-Eau Claire in a conference match a season ago.

Returning for her senior season, Jude Dobrinska (Milwaukee, Wis./Ronald Reagan College Prep) will add on over 3,500 minutes of experience for the Warhawks in net. In her first three years with the program, Dobrinska has 154 saves, ranking 7th in the career record books.

The home and season opener for the Women's Soccer team is set for Monday, September 1st at 11 AM against Bethel. A brief trip to Luther College on September 3rd will lead the Warhawks into their Youth Day against Marian on September 6t. The game against Marian also is the final game of the Purple Wave Opening Weekend Event.

The Warhawks open their WIAC season against UW-River Falls on October 4th at Fiskum Field.
