Winona, MN -- The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Men's Tennis team traveled to Winona, Minnesota to continue their conference play against UW-La Crosse.

Early in the match, the Warhawks took two of the three doubles sets to earn the first point of the match. Theo Billson (Lindfield, England/BHASVIC) and Reuben Giorgio (Perth, Western Australia/Applecross) cruised to a victory, winning in 6. Payton Adkisson (Lincolnshire, Ill./Stevenson) and Tyler Nelson (Waunakee, Wis./Waunakee) had less success, falling 3-6. Giovani Vitali and Will Ulrich (Lincoln, Neb./Pius X) were able to come out on top 6-0 to give the Warhawks the early 1-0 lead. 

In the singles matches, the Warhawk men continued their excellent outing, winning all six flights and earning a 7-0 victory. Tyler Nelson (Waunakee, Wis./Waunakee) and Reuben Giorgio (Perth, Western Australia/Applecross) both had spectacular matches, Nelson winning both in 6, and Giorgio winning 6-1 and 6-0. Charles Morgan (Naperville, Ill./Central) overcame a 0-3 deficit in his first set to win 6-4, and claimed the second set 6-1.

The Warhawks have had a superb start to their conference play, winning all three of their games 7-0. With the win, the Warhawks secured their spot in the WIAC Conference Championship, heading to the East Champion on May 3rd.  

The Warhawks will head to Chicago tomorrow to take on the University of Chicago. Both the men's & women's matches are set to start at 4 p.m.
