Kostroski paced the offense with a 3-4 game at the plate with 3 runs scored an an RBI. Wickman posted a pair of hits with four RBI from the grand slam while Giese went 2-3 with 2 runs scored and a RBI.
UW-Whitewater carried the momentum over into game two scorign three runs in the top of the first. A passed ball allowed the first Warhawk to cross the plate. Mangler once again had the first RBI of the contest, this time on a single to left field.
Keira Jarrett (Evergreen Park, Ill./Mother McAuley) also singled to left to drive in one more and give UWW a quick 3-0 lead.
The Pioneers plated a single run in the bottom of the inning but
Claire Kohnle (Tisch Mills, Wis./Kewaunee) had the responses on a solo shot to center field to push the margin back to three, 4-1.
Carroll scored twice in the bottom of the second, but the Warhawk bats kept rolling. This time Mangler and Jarrett registered back-to-back singles and
Dani Peshia (Newark, Ill./Newark Community) loaded up the bases with a walk. Kohnle capitalized with a towering fly ball that cleared the wall in left field for UWW's second grand slam of the day and Kohnle's second homer of the game. That gave the Warhawks an 8-3 lead.
The final two runs of the game came in the top of the sixth as Wickman laced a double down the left field line that extended the lead to 10-3.
