The following University of Wisconsin-Whitewater athletes have been recognized by the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference as Kwik Trip Athletes of the Week for their performances during the week of February 10th - 16th

Women's Basketball

Kacie Carollo – Senior – Guard – Whitewater, Wis./Whitewater

Kacie Carollo averaged 23.0 points per game in a pair of WIAC wins last week. The senior posted 24 points bolstered by a perfect 7-7 night at the free throw line on Wednesday against UW-La Crosse. She added five rounds, four assists and two steals in that contest. On Saturday, Carollo made 6-9 from the floor including 5-7 from three-point range for 22 points. She added nine rounds, three assists and four steals in the game. For the week, Carollo averaged 23.0 points on 52% shooting from the field and 50% from long range adding 7 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 3.0 steals in just under 29 minutes of action per game.

Men's Track

Gunner Schlender - Senior - Distance - Brillion, Wis./Brillion

Gunner Schlender registered the best time in Division III so far this season with a phenomenal run in the 5,000 at the Midwest ELITE Invitational hosted by UW-Whitewater over the weekend. Schlender crossed the line in 13:59.81 - a career best by more than 13 seconds. The senior surged across the finish line to win a tight race that featured the top five times nationally in the event.

Men's Tennis: Singles

Tyler Nelson - Junior - Waunakee, Wis./Waunakee

Tyler Nelson won the decisive singles match as the Warhawks defeated Carthage on Friday. The junior tallied a reverse sweep - after dropping the first set 2-6, Nelson turned the match around, winning the next two 6-4 and 6-3.
