UW-W Kwik Trip Athletes of the Week (Feb. 10th)

Men's Basketball

Carter Capstran - Senior - Forward - Franklin, Wis./Franklin

Carter Capstran scored a career-high 24 points in the Warhawks' close battle with UW-Oshkosh. The senior followed that performance with an 18-point game against UW-Stout Saturday. For the week, Capstran averaged 21 points while shooting 64% from the floor adding 6.5 rebounds per outing.

Women's Basketball

Carollo, Kacie

Kacie Carollo – Senior – Guard – Whitewater, Wis./Whitewater

Kacie Carollo averaged a double-double across two games last week. The senior matched her career-high against #5 UW-Oshkosh with 33 points adding 12 boards, 3 assists and a block. That game marked her sixth consecutive double-double. On Saturday at UW-Stout, Carollo registered a 12-point, 9-rebound performance. For the week, Carollo averaged 22.5 points, 10.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists per contest.

Gymnastics

Kelsey Kollhoff - Senior - Miamisburg, Ohio/Miamisburg

Kelsey Kollhoff won the floor and finished as the runner-up on the balance beam to lead the Warhawks to their fourth-straight win. The senior posted a 9.675 to share gold on the floor exercise. She added a season-best 9.775 on the beam to claim silver.

Men's Tennis

Theo Billson - Sophomore - Lindfield, England/BHASVIC

Theo Billson bolstered a 3-0 weekend sweep for the Warhawks over the weekend. The sophomore won both of his No. 1 singles matches topping a Luther player 6-4, 6-3 before registering a quick 6-0, 6-4 victory over Grinnell Sunday.

Theo Billson - Sophomore - Lindfield, England/BHASVIC & Drew Van Fossen - Senior - Germantown, Wis./Germantown

Drew Van Fossen and Theo Billson secured a pair of wins at No. 2 doubles over the weekend. On Friday, the duo won 6-2 over Luther. Van Fossen and Billson were the first to finish Sunday, recording a 6-1 win over Grinnell in just 24 minutes.

Track and Field

McFadden, Nick

Men's Track: Nick McFadden - Senior - Sprints - Waukesha, Wis./Pewaukee

Nick McFadden registered a career-best time of 6.99 to win the 60-meter dash at the Big Dawg Invitational. He outstretched a teammate at the finish line to claim gold by just .02 as UWW swept the top four spots in the race.
 

Buser, Carson

Men's Field: Carson Buser - Freshman - High Jump - Byron, Ill./Byron

Carson Buser posted the best high jump of the season for the Warhawks at the Big Dawg Invitational. The freshman recorded a mark of 1.91 meters (6-3.25) to finish fifth.

Bilodeau, Hannah

Women's Track: Hannah Bilodeau - Junior - Long Sprints - Machesney Park, Ill./Harlem

Hannah Bilodeau won the 200 with a time of 26.15 to help lead UW-Whitewater to a first place finish at the Big Dawg Invitational Saturday.

 

Women's Field: Ava Falk - Junior - Horizontal Jumps - Kaneland, Ill./Kaneland

Ava Falk tallied a career-best in the long jump to help the Warhawk women to a first place finish at the Big Dawg Invitational Saturday. Falk posted a distance of 5.01 meters (16-5.25) to win the long jump.

Wrestling

Evan Onstad - Sophomore - 141 - Grayslake, Ill./Warren Township

Evan Onstad paced the Warhawks at the Don Parker Open Saturday with a runner-up finish at 141 pounds. The sophomore opened the tournament with a major decision over an Augsburg wrestler. In round two, he topped a Division II opponent from Augustana (SD) by 15-8 decision. Another major decision over UWEC secured a spot in the semifinal. Onstad punched his ticket to the title bout with a 3-2 tiebreak win over Rhett Koenig of Minnesota. In the championship, Onstad lost by 7-5 decision to Division I Logan Swensen of South Dakota State.
