The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's basketball team cruised to a near 30-point win over Alma College in Michigan.
Joey Berezowitz (Burlington, Wis./Burlington) posted a career-high 16 points to help lead the Warhawks.
The Warhawks opened the game firing from three, making six of their nine attempts in the first half. The hot-hand opened up a quick 10-point lead, but Alma College closed it down.
Darius Chestnut (Sun Prairie, Wis./West) hit a three before the end of the half to put the lead back up to 10 before the end of the half.
After the break, the Warhawks kept tacking onto the lead with balanced scoring. The   hot hand kept the Warhawks going, making 50% of their shots behind the arc in the second half.
The Warhawks kept cruising, holding Alma to only 29 points in the second half. UWW finished out the game with a 90-61 victory over the Scots.Â
The bench for the Warhawks was able to shine in the game, tallying 53 total points outside of the starting five. Four Warhawks reached double digits scoring led by
Joey Berezowitz (Burlington, Wis./Burlington) with a 16-point career high.
Collin Madson (Mukwonago, Wis./Mukwonago) added 16, with
Jake Quast (Hinsdale, Ill./Central) chipping in 11.
Darius Chestnut (Sun Prairie, Wis./West) finished with 10 points.Â
Isaac Verges (Franklin, Wis./Franklin) and
Tyshawn Teague-Johnson (Beloit, Wis./Turner) each had 9 points in the balanced scoring effort.Â
The Warhawks will wrap up their non-conference schedule on the road against Coe College on December 30th. UWW men will return home on January 3rd to open up WIAC play agianst UW-Oshkosh. Tip-off in Kachel is scheduled for 5 PM.
