Whitewater, Wis. -- The UW-Whitewater volleyball team dropped a five-setter to Colby in the final match of the Warhawks' fifth home invitational of the season. Set scores were 25-18, 16-25, 22-25, 25-19, 11-15.
After splitting the first four sets, the Warhawks scored the first two points of the decisive fifth.
Emily Lego (Rock Falls, Ill./Rock Falls) hammered down a kill and
Gaby DiMotto (New Berlin, Wis./West) followed with an ace.
The Mules responded with four straight to claim the advantage and extended the gap to 8-5 at the side switch.
UWW battled back, putting together a 5-1 run to tie the set 11-11, but Colby countered with four in a row for the match.
Lego hit .357 with 15 kills to lead the UW-Whitewater offense. She added three blocks in the game. DiMotto had a share of team-high in kills with 15 adding four aces on the day.
Aubrie Krzus (Wheaton, Ill./Warrenville South) registered 40 assists and had three blocks. The league's top server
Emma Bludgen (Aurora, Ill./Metea Valley) added three aces to her season total in the match.

Abbie Dix (Brodhead, Wis./Brodhead) and
Amanda Hillmann (Cedarburg, Wis./Kettle Moraine Lutheran) combined for 13 blocks while
Natalie Lawton (Elmhurst, Ill./IC Catholic Prep) had a phenomenal match in the backcourt with 30 digs.
Kyanne Wusterbarth (Oconto, Wis./Oconto) joined the double digit dig club with 17.
