The Warhawks return to Perkins Stadium for another top ten matchup this Saturday. UW-Whitewater will host UW-Platteville for the 32nd George Chryst Memorial Bowl. Kickoff is set for 1 PM at The Perk. The game is the team's annual Homecoming contest and the Warhawks will recognize the 2025 UW-Whitewater Athletic Hall of Fame Class at halftime.
RANKINGS
The Warhawks are ranked 9th in the latest American Football Coaches Association poll and 8th according to D3football.com. The Pioneers are flipped in the rankings listed at number 8 in the AFCA poll and 9th according to D3football.com
SERIES
The series between these two storied programs is the longest-standing for the Warhawks against another WIAC institution. Saturday marks the 117th meeting for the series that dates back to 1895. UW-Whitewater leads the all-time series 85-27-4. In 1993, the rivalry game became the George Chryst Memorial Bowl in honor of the longtime head coach for UW-Platteville. The Warhawks lead the bowl series record 27-4.Â
LAST TIME OUT - UWW
UW-Whitewater packed on the points in the second half leading to a 34-2 win over UW-Stout under the lights on Friday night in Perkins Stadium. After scoring just three in the first half, UWW put up 14 in the third and 17 in the fourth. The defense was stifling, holding the Blue Devils to a single yard rushing in the contest.Â
Justin Klinkner (Two Rivers, Wis./Two Rivers) completed half of his passes (8-16) with both a passing and rushing touchdown.
Ty Schultz (Lockport, Ill./Lockport) ripped off a 75-yard score and
Brian Stanton (Plainfield, Ill./Plainfield South) added a third rushing TD.
Collin Fritts (Woodville, Wis./Baldwin Woodville) hauled in the lone passing score for UWW in the game.Â
Defensively,
Karsten Libby (Wheaton, Ill./Wheaton North) paced UWW with 10 tackles as
Ethan Gallagher (Homer Glen, Ill./Lockport Township) and
Deven Magli (Deforest, Wis./Deforest) each registered interceptions.

The Pioneers scored 21 unanswered points in the first half to take the lead they held the rest of the way. UW-Platteville held the Eagles to just 49 yards rushing while the Pioneer offense tallied 284 yards on the ground.Â
Nathan Uselding completed 12-16 for 171 yards and three passing TDs. Uselding and Blake Bangston registered rushing scores while Trevor Syse caught five passes including two for TDs to lead the offense.Â
Ollie Hughes paced the defense with seven tackles including a pair for a loss. Elijah Krantz and Logan Drone posted sacks in the contest.
