The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's basketball team were met with a on-fire UW-Stevens Point in a conference road match on Wednesday night. The Warhawks fell to the Pointers, 83-52.
The Warhawks struggled to get going offensively in the first half, while the Pointers couldn't miss at all.Â
At the end of the first 20 minutes, UW-Whitewater trailed 46-19. The Warhawks shot just 7-for-24 (29.2%) from the floor and 5-for-13 (38.5%) from beyond the arc. In comparison, the Pointers shot 17-for-23 (73.9%) from the floor and hit 8 of their 9 (88.9%) three-pointers.
The Warhawks tried to get back on track in the second-half, but the Pointers lead was too great. The Warhawks scored 33 to the Pointers 37 in the second half.Â

The Warhawks had three leading scorers with 8 points led by
Kelton McEwen (Bartlett, Ill./St. Francis). McEwen was perfect from the floor, making all three of his shots, including two from beyond the arc for his 8 points.Â
Isaac Verges (Franklin, Wis.) and
JT Hoytink (Menomonee Falls, Wis./Sussex Hamilton) each added eight points. Verges also lead the team with four rebounds. Hoytink hit two threes in the contest.
The UWW men's basketball team will return home to face UW-Oshkosh in their next game. The matchup is scheduled for February 5, 2025, at 7:00 p.m.
