Tyler Vasey (Crystal Lake, Ill/Prairie Ridge) and Matt Burba (Lake in the Hills, Ill./Huntley) have been selected to the 2024 D3football.com All-America teams according to a release on Thursday. Vasey earned Second Team Specialist honors as a returner while Burba picked up Third Team recognition for defense. 

Vasey bolstered the Warhawks' return game as one of the most prolific specialists in Division III this season. The sophomore was the top returner in the nation with three kickoffs returned for touchdowns - a UW-Whitewater season record. He also holds the career record after just two seasons with UWW. The WIAC Special Teams Player of the Year, Vasey averaged 40.7 yards per kick return with a season long, 98-yarder returned for a touchdown. 

Burba secured his third All-America honor this season after claiming Second Team honors from the Associated Press and First Team recognition from the American Football Coaches Association. The senior defensive tackle became the fourth Warhawk in program history to earn the WIAC Defensive Player of the Year honor. He ranked second in the league in sacks (4.5) and tied for third in tackles for a loss (10.5). Burba was one of just six players in the WIAC to force two fumbles this season. Additionally, he bolstered a defense that topped the conference in scoring defense (15.4 per game), total defense (289.5 yards per game), rushing defense (66.9 yards per game) and forced fumbles (10) this season.
