UW-W Kwik Trip Athletes of the Week (Sept 30th)

Women's Soccer

Offense: Emily Thill – Senior – Midfielder – West Chicago, Ill./St. Francis

Emily Thill scored two goals and added an assist in the Warhawks’ 4-1 victory over Wheaton midweek. The senior registered the opening goal in a 4-0 win over Coe College Saturday. For the week, Thill scored on all three shots on frame in the two contests.

Defense: Juliana Madonia – Senior – Defender – Schaumburg, Ill./James B. Conant

Juliana Madonia made a huge impact in helping UW-Whitewater to a 2-0 record last week. The Warhawks allowed a single goal on four shots on target in a 4-1 win over Wheaton. Madonia contributed an assist in the game on top of a stellar defensive performance. In UWW’s 4-0 victory over Coe College Saturday, the Warhawks allowed just two shots, neither were on goal.

Women's Tennis

Singles: Crystina Lee – Freshman – Downers Grove, Ill./Timothy Christian

Crystina Lee picked up a win at No. 6 singles in the Warhawks’ win over UW-Stevens Point last week. Lee dropped just one game in each set winning 6-1, 6-1 to bolster UWW’s 9-0 sweep of the Pointers.

Doubles: Cassie Lee – Senior – Downers Grove, Ill./Timothy Christian & Gracie Ha – Senior – Palatine, Ill./Fremd

Cassie Lee and Gracie Ha started UW-Whitewater off strong in a WIAC dual against UW-Stevens Point last week. The pair quickly took the top doubles flight 8-1 to lead the Warhawks to the 9-0 sweep.

Volleyball

Aubrie Krzus

Offense: Aubrie Krzus – Sophomore – Setter – Wheaton, Ill./Warrenville South

Aubrie Krzus helped lead the No. 3 Warhawks to a 2-1 record on the court last week. In a three-set sweep of UW-La Crosse where the Warhawks hit .438 as a team, Krzus registered 26 assists while adding four kills, an ace and five blocks. In a four-set loss to No. 4 Hope College, Krzus tallied seven kills to go with 39 assists and 12 digs. She capped the week with a phenomenal performance in UWW’s four-set victory over No. 25 Transylvania. The Warhawk offense hit .347 in that match. Krzus

hammered down a career-high 11 kills without committing an attack error while dishing out 49 assists and tallying six blocks. For the week, Krzus averaged 10.36 assists adding 2.00 kills and 1.18 blocks per set.

Jaedynn Evans

Defense: Jaedynn Evans - Grad. Student – Libero – Kalona, Iowa/Iowa City Regina

UW-Whitewater libero Jaedynn Evans bolstered the No. 3 Warhawks defensively in three matches last week. In a three-set sweep over UW-La Crosse, Evans registered 13 digs. Against the defending national runner-up, No. 4 Hope College, Evans posted a season-high 34 digs. The Warhawks held the reigning Division III Player of the Year – Hope’s outside hitter – to an attack percentage of .125 in the contest. Evans wrapped up the week with 18 digs in a four-set victory over No. 25 Transylvania. For the week, Evans averaged nearly six digs per set.
