WIAC Kwik Trip Athletes of the Week

The following University of Wisconsin-Whitewater athletes have been recognized by the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference as Kwik Trip Athletes of the Week for their performances during the week of September 16th through 22nd, 2024.

Football - Special Teams

Karsten Libby – Sophomore – Linebacker – Wheaton, Ill./North

UW-Whitewater’s Karsten Libby had a phenomenal day on special teams Saturday. In the second quarter, Libby got the Warhawks on the board blocking a punt that was recovered by UWW in the endzone for the score. In the third, he got to the punter once again for his second block of the game to give the Warhawks’ great field position at the UMHB 42. In addition to two blocked punts, Libby recorded a tackle for a loss in the game.

Women's Tennis - Singles

Cassie Lee – Senior – Downers Grove, Ill./Timothy Christian

Cassie Lee went 4-1 in the ITA Midwest Regional advancing to the semifinal round of the tournament in St. Peter, Minnesota over the weekend. Lee had an exciting comeback in the quarterfinal match – after dropping the first set 5-7, she responded in a big way by taking set two, 6-1, and sweeping set three, 6-0.

Jaedynn Evans

Volleyball - Defense

Jaedynn Evans – Graduate Student – Libero – Kalona, Iowa/Iowa City Regina

UW-Whitewater libero Jaedynn Evans led the Warhawks to a 2-1 record against top 25 teams last week. In a five-setter at #5 UW-Oshkosh, Evans recorded 26 digs. She tallied 13 digs in a three-set sweep of #7 La Verne before capping the week with 26 digs in a three-set win over #15 Gustavus Adolphus. Additionally, Evans did not commit a single receiving error in 39 attempts. For the week, Evans averaged 5.91 digs per set in 11 sets played.
