The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater baseball team took care of business against Edgewood, with an 18-2 win, picking up win number 30 on the season.
The Warhawks got off to a hot start, with
Eli Frank (Bayport, Wis./Bay Port) going yard in his first at-bats to score the first two runs for UW-Whitewater.
In the next inning, the Warhawks loaded up the bases with the first three batters and then scored four straight runs to go up 7-0 only two innings in.
The Eagles scored in the bottom of the second, with just a solo home run to get on the scoreboard. But the Warhawks answered back, with another two-run homer from
Matt Scolan (Downers Grove, Ill./South).
Heading into the 7th inning, the Warhawks were up 11-1 but added on a few insurance runs to complete the game in the seventh. A huge inning at the plate, the Warhawks scored 7 runs on 5 hits with one error. The Eagles scored another run in the bottom of the seventh, but it wasn't enough as the Warhawks took home the 18-2 win.

Jackson Koenig (Blaine, Minn./Blaine) had 3 RBIs, going 2-for3 at the plate with a double and two walks as well. Scolan and
Andy Thies (Tallahassee, Fla./Lawton Chiles) each had two RBIs, with Thies hitting the other Warhawk double of the game.
Michael Hilker Jr. (Yorkville, Ill./York) picked up the win on the mound, going 5 innings with 10 strikeouts and only 5 hits. Hilker continues his dominance on the mound, not allowing a single walk. Hilker has a 0.76 WHIP, ranking fourth in the nation.
The Warhawks will take some time off, before finishing their regular season at home against UW-Stevens Point. The two top teams in the WIAC will battle it in a four-game series starting Friday, May 3rd at 1 PM.
