The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater baseball team featured some heavy hitting in a non-conference match-up against Loras in Dubuque, taking a quick 15-3 lead in only two innings and not looking back. The Warhawks took down the Duhawks 20-10.
The Warhawks got to work immediately, starting the game with a walk and two RBI doubles. Another couple of hits put the Warhawks up 4-0, but Loras answered back with back-to-back home runes, but the Warhawks put away the side, finishing the first inning up 4-3.
In the second inning, the Warhawks found a way on base with almost every at-bat. With five walks, four hits, a fielder's choice, and a hit by pitch, UW-Whitewater kept rounding the bases and adding up the runs. By the time the inning was over, Loras had gone through three pitchers and the Warhawks led 15-3.Â
In the third inning, UW-Whitewater added two runs, with the Duhawks adding a three-run double in the bottom of the inning, but the Warhawks still had a strong hold on the game.
The scoring slowed down slightly after the 3rd inning, but a
Danny Hopper (Palatine, Ill./Palatine) triple added on one more run in the 4th, with
Matt Scolan (Downers Grove, Ill./South) hitting a sac fly in the 5th before Jack Koenig got hit by a pitch with bases loaded adding three runs over those two innings.Â
Heading into the bottom of the 7th, the Warhawks led 20-6. Loras started to get going a little bit, but were unable to come within reach. After three outs the Warhawks won with the run-rule.
Scolan and

Jackson Koenig (Blaine, Minn./Blaine) hitting three runs of his own in.
Darryl Jackson (Milwaukee, Wis./Rufus King) also finished with two doubles on the game.
