Defensive lineman
Matt Burba (Lake in the Hills, Ill./Huntley) has added All-America honors from the Associated Press to his list of accolades for the 2024 season.
The senior is a Second Team AP All-America selection after earning First Team honors from the American Football Coaches Association earlier this month. Burba was named the 2024 Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Year becoming the fourth Warhawk in program history to earn the league's top defensive honor. Burba ranked second in the WIAC in sacks (4.5) and tied for third in tackles for a loss (10.5). He was one of just six players in the conference to force two fumbles this season.
Burba, now a two-time All-American, bolstered a defense that topped the WIAC in scoring defense (15.4 per game), total defense (289.5 yards per game), rushing defense (66.9 yards per game) and forced fumbles (10) this season.
