The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's and women's team swim competed in the Luther Invite over the weekend. The women's team finished 3rd of four teams, with 764.5 team points.
Diving Highlights
The Diving events began on Friday night,
Jersey Schweitzer (Oak Creek, Wis./) led the Warhawks, finishing 7th overall in the field of 18 divers. Schweitzer totaled 343.70 points through 11 dives in the 1M. Her best dive, an inward dive pike, scored 21.00 points.
Brookelyn Kieffer,
Lydia Wirkkula (West Bend, Wis./West Bend West), and
Maggie Reinert (Warrenville, Ill./Wheaton-Warreville South) all finished within a few places of each other.
Kieffer totaled 304.65 points, tallying 19.50 points with an inward dive, tuck.
Wirkkula totaled 295.25 points. Her best dive was a Forward 1-1/2 SS, Tuck, tallying 19.00 points.
Finally, Reinert totaled 295.25 points, with her fourth dive her best with an inward dive, tuck.
Swim Highlights
The women's team started strong with multiple top finishes in the finals events on Saturday.
Emily Connell (New Berlin, Wis./Eisenhower) topped the 200 free with a time of 1:59.20, Connell was joined in the A-Finals by
Nikolina Gallo (Greendale, Wis./),
Bella Borta (Wonder Lake, Ill./Woodstock), and
Addi Sanow (Munster, Ind./). Gallo and Borta finished back to back at 4th and 5th in the event.
In B-Final of the 100 breast,
Natalie Miska (Minneapolis, Minn./St. Anthony Village) represented the Warhawks on the top of the podium. Miska finished her race in 1:18.02, narrowly tapping before the second-place finisher, who timed in at a 1:18.98.
Izzy Doczy (Greendale, Wis./) had a top-three finish, placing third in the A Final of the 200 back. Doczy timed in with a 2:18.78.Â
The Warhawks also featured two of the top three spots in the close 50 free. Borta (24.75) and Connell (24.9) finished 2nd and 3rd, respectively.
The team finished the race just as strong, with a second place finish in the 400 free relay.

The Men's and Women's team wrapped up their 2024 portion of the season. The team will next be in action on January 25th, 2025 in their annual traingular against Lawrence and Lake Forest. The 2025 triangular takes place in the Warhawks' home pool in the Williams Center.
