The following University of Wisconsin-Whitewater athletes have been recognized by the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference as Kwik Trip Athletes of the Week for their performances during the week of October 14th - 20th

Men's Cross Country

Christian Patzka – Senior – Black Earth, Wis./Wisconsin Heights

Christian Patzka waited until the last 2k to close the gap created by Wartburg’s Isaiah Hammerand who had built up a lead of 10 seconds over the field at the halfway point of the Augustana Interregional. Patzka ran negative splits for the 8000 meters, 12:02.3 for the first 4k and 11:50.4 over the last 4k to be Hammerand by just over seven seconds for the win. Patzka’s time of 23:52.7 was a personal record and broke the UW-Whitewater program record for the 8k.

Football Special Teams

Tyler Vasey – Sophomore – WR/KR – Crystal Lake, Ill./Prairie Ridge

Tyler Vasey set the tone in UW-Whitewater’s 66-0 win over UW-Stevens Point Friday night. Vasey took the opening kick 88 yards to the house – his third kickoff return for touchdown this season.

Women's Tennis Doubles: 

Ava Andrae – Freshman – Cedarburg, Wis./Cedarburg & Crystina Lee – Freshman – Downers Grove, Ill./Timothy Christian

Ava Andrae and Crystina Lee picked up the doubles point with an 8-3 win at the #3-doubles flight against UW-Oshkosh. The Warhawk pair were down 2-3 at the changeover but secured their match with 6-striaght games.
