Ketterhagen Ford Football Preview -- Game 5 at UW-Stout

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater football team will be on the road in Menomonie to take on the UW-Stout Blue Devils this Saturday. Kickoff at Don and Nona Williams Stadium is slated for 2 p.m. 

RANKINGS
The Warhawks are ranked 10th in the latest D3football.com and 8th American Football Coaches Association Division III polls. UW-Stout is not ranked in the pair of national polls. 

UWW LAST TIME OUT
UW-Whitewater is coming off of a 21-14 win over UW-Oshkosh last week. The Warhawks set the WIAC and Division III attendance record for games played on a college campus with 21,233 fans visiting Perkins Stadium. UWW's win was bolstered by touchdown runs from Drake Martin (Rhinelander, Wis./Rhinelander), Jason Ceniti (Madison, Wis./Madison Memorial) and Tamir Thomas (Menomonee Falls, Wis./Menomonee Falls)

The Warhawks put up 325 yards of total offense in the game including 206 on the ground. Thomas led the way with 123 yards on 26 carries. Ceniti was 8-18 for 119 yards through the air with a single interception. Steven Hein (St. Charles, Ill./North) and Tyler Vasey (Crystal Lake, Ill/Prairie Ridge) each hauled in a pair of passes to lead the receiving corps. 

Defensively, Paul Kim (Janesville, Wis./Parker) had a phenomenal game with seven tackles including two for a loss and a strip sack. The sack that caused a fumble all but sealed the win for UWW late in the fourth quarter. 

STOUT LAST TIME OUT
The Blue Devils are coming off of a 22-15 win over UWSP in their conference opener. UW-Stout jumped out to a 19-0 by the early fourth before the Pointers started to mount a comeback. UWS registered 332 yards of offense bolstered by 185 on the ground. 

Individually, Blue Devil quarterback Adam Moen was 13-24 for 147 yards and a touchdown. Chase Hughes picked up 63 yards on 17 carries while fellow back Dylan Nelson tallied 63 yards on 14 rushes. Three receivers caught three passes each combining for 10 yards receiving and a touchdown. 

Brooks Brewer paced the defense with nine tackles while Nick Mohs picked up a sack and added five tackles on the day.

SERIES
This is the 67th matchup since the series opener in 1928 between these two league squads. The Warhawks have won the last 21 contests and hold a 26-5-2 record in games played on the road. 

The last Blue Devil win in the series came on November 3, 2001 in a 28-25 victory in Menomonie. In the 66-game series, the Warhawk defense has been stellar against Stout, allowing less than 12 points per game. Meanwhile, the UWW offense puts up nearly 30 points per game historically.
