Men's Hoops Fall in High-Scoring Affair

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater traveled over to UW-Stevens Point on Wednesday night. In a fast-paced, high-scoring affair, the Pointers outpaced the Warhawks, winning 100-92.

The Warhawks and Pointers battled it out for the first few minutes, with neither team gaining a solid lead on the game. In the first half alone, there were 15 lead changes and the game was tied on 9 separate occasions.

UW-Whitewater led by as much as 6 points, but a 7-0 run by Stevens Point saw the Pointers regaining the lead with 7-minutes left in the half. For the rest of the half, the teams traded baskets before Stevens Point scored the final 4 points of the half to take the 52-48 lead at halftime.

After the break, the Pointers kept the foot on the gas. Slowly pulling away from the Warhawks. Around the 10-minute mark of the second half, UW-Whitewater closed the Pointer lead down to 4-points, but UWSP kept finding ways to score, keeping the Warhawks at bay. When the final buzzer sounded, Stevens Point led 100-92.
