Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Warhawks and Norse Scoreless After 90 Minutes

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Men's soccer team played out a stalemate with Luther College on Wednesday night, battling the whole 90 minutes into a 0-0 draw.

The first half saw Luther outnumber UW-Whitewater in shots 6-3. The shots on goal were even, with each team having two at the half.

After the break, the second half was an impressive showing by the Warhawk defense. In a tight game, UW-Whitewater didn't allow a single shot on goal from the Norse in the second half.

As time was winding down in the tied game, Tucker Jahns (Elburn, Ill./Kaneland) had an open look at the net, but the Norse keeper rushed the ball, tripping Jahns in the box and drawing a penalty kick.

With 2:41 left on the clock, Faizan Mohiuddin (South Elgin, Ill./St. Charles North) lined up for the PK. Mohiuddin placed the ball in the lower left corner, but the Norse keeper made the save, taking the win away from the Warhawks.

The Warhawks played a clean game in the draw, picking up no cards and only ten fouls. UW-Whitewater drew 20 fouls from the Norse.

Duncan Morgan (Oregon, Wis./Oregon) picked up his third solo shutout of the season, making two saves in his 90 minutes.

The Warhawk men will be back in action on September 15th, when they head to Greenville for a 4 PM match against the Panthers.
