The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's soccer team fell to Mary Hardin-Baylor 1-0 in the team's season-opener played at Kenny Harsins Field in Duluth Friday afternoon.
Warhawk keeper
Jude Dobrinska (Milwaukee, Wis./Ronald Reagan College Prep) was challenged early by the Cru registering a pair of saves in the first ten minutes. In the 21st minute, a UMHB shot on frame snuck by the all-league keeper for the lone score of the game.
Mary Hardin-Baylor's offense put the pressure on outshooting the Warhawks 8-1 on shots on goal. Dobrinska turned away seven of those scoring chances.
Four Warhawks played the entire 90 minutes including Dobrinska in net.
Juliana Madonia (Schaumburg, Ill./James B. Conant),
Liz Prigge (Palatine, Ill./Fremd) and
Nicole Dawson (Aurora, Ill./Metea Valley) also never left the pitch.
UW-Whitewater continues action in the opening weekend hosted by St. Scholastica with a matchup against Hardin-Simmons University Saturday at 5 pm.
