The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater track and field program hosted and competed in the Drake Alternative which featured a number of Division I opponents Friday afternoon. The competition was the team's final before the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships May 5-6 which will also take place in Whitewater.
The Warhawks had a number of first place finishers at the meet.
Jacqueline Kornowski (Green Bay, Wis./Preble) was the first to cross the finish line in the 200 with a time of 25.51.
Kobe Chandler (Beloit, WI/Memorial) was tops in the 400 with a clocking of 49.03. In the 1500,
Paige Fassbender (Slinger, Wis./Slinger) bested the competition with a time of 4:43.78.
In the field events,
Gracie Holland (Marshfield, Wis./Marshfield) continues to dominate the pole vault with a height of 3.91 meters (15-6.25) for gold Friday.
Shelvin Garrett II (Beloit, Wis./Memorial) claimed the triple jump crown with a leap of 14.95 meters (49-0.75).
UW-Whitewater's 4x100 relay squads were golden on both the men's and women's sides. The men's combination included
