Three Warhawk track and field athletes set program records and catapulted themselves to the top of the Division III performance lists in Saturday's Midwest Elite Invitational.
Gracie Holland (Marshfield, Wis./Marshfield) broke her own program recrod in the pole vault. Her height of 3.91 meters (12-10) is the best in Division III this season.
Carleen Snow (Rio, Wis./DeForest) added a fifth place finish in the event while
Chris Bitz (Brookfield, Wis./East) was seventh on the men's side.
Tina Shelton (Janesville, Wis./Parker) broke the program record in the 60-meter dash for the third straight week. She crossed the line in 7.55, the second-best time in Division III so far this season, a new program record and also a Kachel Fieldhouse record in the event. That time is among the 25 fastest times ever recorded in Division III women's track. Shelton added a runner-up finish in the 200 with a clocking of 25.15 while
Carsen Rindt (Appleton, Wis./Fox Valley Lutheran) was seventh for the men with a time of 23.00.
Christian Patzka (Black Earth, Wis./Wisconsin Heights) broke the program record in the 5,000 meter run with a time of 13:49.04. That mark is the best in Division III this season and is the top time ran in Kachel Fieldhouse history. On the women's side,
Ari De La Cerda (Milwaukee, Wis./Pewaukee) finished fifth.
Shelvin Garrett and
Brayden Zettle (Monroe, Wis./Monroe) went 1-2 in the triple jump led by Garrett's leap of 14.69 meters (48-2.50).
Justin Krause (Ixonia, Wis./Pewaukee) and
Josh Krystosek (Palmyra, Wis./Palmyra-Eagle) recorded runner-up finishes in their events Saturday. Krause posted a top ten time in Division III with a 4:08.93 in the mile. Krystosek posted a second-best height of 2.00 meters (6-6.75) in the high jump.
Marlon Cystrunk (DeForest, Wis./DeForest) added third place points to the team total in the 60 hurdles. He crossed the line in 8.38.
Payton Scoggin (Kenosha, Wis./Indian Trails) came in third in the women's 3,000 with a time of 10:56.48 while
Brandon Gang's (Waukesha, Wis./West) time of 8:46.18 was good for third on the men's side.
Miranda McNally (Downers Grove, Ill./North) and
Jill Cavanaugh (Port Washington, Wis./Port Washington) finished in fifth and sixth and Nickolas Hardin was fourth in the event.
Kobe Chandler (Beloit, WI/Memorial) and
Luke Zanis (St. Charles, Ill./North) added fourth and fifth place points respectively in the 400 led by Chandler's clocking of 50.75.
Katie McNamara (Geneva, Ill./Geneva) was seventh in the event. Mickayla Madlena led the Warhawks in the women's weight throw with a fourth place distance of 16.09 meters (52-9.50).
Kenni Czarnecki (Muskego, Wis./Muskego) was seventh in the event.
The UW-Whitewater men's 4x400 squad combined for a fourth place time of 3:28.20 to wrap up the meet.
