The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's basketball team bounced back after a slow start to down the visiting Vikings of Lawerence College, 74-50.
At the under 8-media in the first half, the Warhawks only lead by 9, with the Vikings right on their heels. But to finish out the half, the Warhawks went on a 18-1 run, forcing five turnovers in the 7-minute stretch. During that run,
Trevon Chislom (McFarland, Wis./McFarland) scored 12 of his 21 points of the night. UW-Whitewater entered the half up 43-17.Â
To open the second half, the Vikings scored first, but the Warhawks retained their lead, cruising out to the 24-point win, 74-50.
Chislom led all scorers with his 21 points,
Miles Barnstable (Sheboygan, Wis./Howards Grove) added 11 to the total, with
Jameer Barker (Racine, Wis./St. Catherine's) and
Carter Capstran (Franklin, Wis./Franklin) each chipping in 8-points each. Capstran and
Elijah Lambert (Racine, Wis./St. Catherine's) led the team in rebounds, each pulling down 7 boards.
The Warhawks will head out on the road for their next game, taking on Marian University next Monday night at 7 PM in Fond du Lac.Â
