Warhawk Volleyball Sweeps UW-River Falls on Senior Night

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater volleyball team wrapped up the regular season with a 3-0 (25-16, 25-19, 25-23) sweep of UW-River Falls Saturday evening. The Warhawks recognized seniors Kirsten Anderson (Sun Prairie, Wis./Sun Prairie), Morgan Jensen (Sun Prairie, Wis./Sun Prairie), Hannah Proctor (Durand, Ill./Durand) and Jenna Weinfurt (Waukesha, Wis./Catholic Memorial) in the team's annual senior night sponsored by Educators Credit Union.

UWW secured the number two seed heading into the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament and will receive a first round bye. The Warhawks will host the winner of a Tuesday matchup between UW-River Falls and UW-Platteville. Unbeaten UW-Oshkosh holds the top seed. The WIAC Tournament Championship will be hosted by the highest remaining seed on Saturday, November 11. The winner will receive the league's automatic bid into the NCAA Division III Tournament.

UW-Whitewater hit .255 Saturday while holding the Falcons to .172 at the net. The nation's top blocking team also out-blocked UWRF 7-3 in the contest.

Weinfurt led UWW with 12 kills adding four assist blocks and five digs. Anderson was the most efficient hitting .524 with 11 kills in 21 attempts without committing an attack error. Anderson, the Division III leader in total blocks, shared match-high honors with Weinfurt with four blocks while Proctor added three.

In the backcourt, Jensen tallied 15 digs followed by Ally Longden's (Pewaukee, Wis./Pewaukee) 11. Aubrie Krzus (Wheaton, Ill./Warrenville South) dished out 31 assists in the contest.
