LAST TIME OUT
The Warhawks defeated UW-Platteville 45-23 to reclaim the Miner's Axe in the 28th Annual George Chryst Memorial Bowl. Over 11,000 were in attendance at Perkins Stadium for the annual Homecoming and Hall of Fame game.
For the second-straight game, UWW quarterback Alec Ogden (Marshall, Wis./Monona Grove) accounted for four touchdowns. He was 19-30 for 190 yards and two TD passes while adding 80 yards and two scores with his feet.
Dyson Klubertanz (Franklin, Wis./Franklin) had a career game with a pair of picks. The first came on the Pioneers very first play from scrimmage while the second was a fantastic over-the-shoulder grab on a deep ball that he returned 25 yards. Wide receiver and returner Tyler Vasey (Crystal Lake, Ill/Prairie Ridge) sparked the Warhawks in special teams with a 93-yard touchdown return on a kickoff for his first collegiate TD.
The Pointers fell to UW-Oshkosh 66-28 on the road last week. UWSP came back from a 21-point deficit to narrow the game to 28-14 in the second but the Titans added a late score just before the intermission and never looked back.
Pointer QB Jake Leair was 20-33 for 220 yardds and four touchdowns. In the ground game, Brycen Cashin posted 81 yards on 12 carries. Matt Getgen was the top target through the air with 81 yards on six receptions including a pair of touchdown catches.
Tyson White paced the Pointers' defense with eight tackles.
