The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater volleyball team swept UW-Platteville 3-0 (25-22, 27-25, 25-19) on the road Wednesday night.
The Warhawks hit well to open the match registering a team attack percentage near .300 with 13 kills. UWW's defense played a key role holding the Pioneers to a team attack percentage of just .043 for the match.
A series of runs throughout set two had the teams trading leads. Three consecutive errors by UWP to end the set gave UW-Whitewater a 2-0 lead in the match.
The Warhawks jumped out to a 10-4 lead in the third set and held at least a five-point lead the rest of the way.
Outside hitter
Jenna Weinfurt (Waukesha, Wis./Catholic Memorial) led the Warhawks with 10 kills in 27 attempts. She added five blocks and eight digs. Defensively at the net,
Kirsten Anderson (Sun Prairie, Wis./Sun Prairie) tallied nine assist blocks to lead all players.
In the backcourt,
Morgan Jensen (Sun Prairie, Wis./Sun Prairie) posted nine digs and
Aubrie Krzus (Wheaton, Ill./Warrenville South) ran the offense dishing out 27 assists.
