The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater softball team started the Illinois Wesleyan Tournament Saturday with a 3-2 loss against Illinois College in Bloomington, Ill.
The Warhawks (6-6 overall) took a 2-1 lead in the third inning before the Lady Blue tallied runs in the fourth and fifth innings to take the lead for good.

Sophia Kinjerski (Maribel, Wis./Denmark) and centerfielder
Meghan Dunning (Plainfield, Ill./South) each posted one hit and one run to lead UW-Whitewater. First baseman
Brooke Mangler (Gurnee, Ill./Warren Township) and catcher
Kennedy Cox (Janesville, Wis./Craig) registered one hit apiece, and left fielder
Krista Sbarra (West Chicago, Ill./St. Charles East) and designated player
Sydney Anderson (Delavan, Wis./Delavan-Darien) each knocked in one run.
Rhiann Dick (Palatine, Ill./Palatine) took the loss on the mound, dropping to 1-3 on the year. She pitched 4 2/3 innings, striking out five batters during that span.
Kathryn Kinsella (Chicago, Ill./Loyola Academy) tossed 1 1/3 innings of scoreless relief.
Illinois College (6-8) put up one unearned run in the bottom of the first to take the early advantage. UW-W took the lead in the third on balls put into play with the bases loaded by Sbarra and Anderson.
The Lady Blue tied the game at 2-2 with two outs in the bottom of the fourth and took the lead with two outs in the bottom of the fifth.
The Warhawks stranded runners in scoring position in the sixth and seventh innings.
UW-Whitewater concludes the tournament Sunday with games against Illinois Wesleyan at 10 a.m. and Illinois College at 12:15 p.m.
