Pesik, Pogue Join Football Staff; Shields, Boldiis Promoted

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater football team and head coach Kevin Bullis announced staffing updates ahead of the upcoming spring practice period.

Nick Pesik and Brody Pogue have joined Bullis' staff. Pesik is the Warhawks' new Offensive Coordinator and Quarterbacks Coach, while Pogue will serve as Wide Receivers Coach.

In addition, Tim Shields has been promoted to Offensive Line Coach, and Teril Boldiis has been elevated to Tight Ends Coach and Director of Football Operations.

Nick Pesik – Offensive Coordinator/Quarterbacks

Pesik was a member of the UW-Whitewater staff from 2016-18, serving as Wide Receivers Coach during that span. He helped UW-W claim Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championships in 2016 and 2018 and reach the national semifinals in 2018.

Most recently, Pesik was the Offensive Coordinator and Quarterbacks Coach at UW-Stout, where he helped the Blue Devils average 34 points and more than 430 yards per game on offense during the team's 2021 season. He coached nine all-conference players in two seasons and was the recruiting coordinator for Illinois and Southern Wisconsin.

Pesik previously held positions at UW-Eau Claire (2015) and Northern Illinois University (2011-14). He graduated from Ripon College with a degree in exercise science/community recreation and earned his master's at NIU in adult and higher education in 2016.

Brody Pogue – Wide Receivers

Pogue held offensive coordinator roles at each of his previous two stops. He most recently served as Offensive Coordinator at Illinois College, where he oversaw all aspects of the offense and held key roles in social media, recruiting and fundraising. He coached the quarterbacks, running backs and tight ends at IC, and mentored two all-conference selections in 2021.

From 2016-21, Pogue worked at St. Ambrose University, where he was the Offensive Coordinator during the 2019 and 2020 seasons. He coached eight all-conference honorees during his time at St. Ambrose working with the offensive line, running backs and tight ends.

Pogue graduated with a degree in economics from Illinois College in 2016 and a master's in organizational leadership from St. Ambrose in 2019.

Tim Shields – Offensive Line

Shields, who is in his fifth year with the program, previously held roles as Director of Football Operations and Equipment, Recruiting Coordinator and Tight Ends/Offensive Tackles Coach. The Warhawks have led the WIAC in rushing in two of the last three seasons, and a UW-W tight end has been selected all-conference in three of the last four seasons.

Shields previously held positions at Washington-St. Louis (2014-16), Illinois College (2013) and Waldorf College (2012). He graduated with a degree in history and political science from Illinois College in 2008 and earned a law degree from Western Michigan University in 2011.

Teril Boldiis – Tight Ends/Director of Football Operations

Boldiis joined the program as an assistant offensive line coach prior to the 2021 season. Three Warhawk offensive linemen garnered All-WIAC accolades last fall, including D3football.com first team All-American Kyle Gannon (Waukesha, Wis./West).

Boldiis previously held coaching positions at Lakeland University (2020-21) and Buffalo State College (2019). He was a recruiting and operations assistant for the University at Buffalo in 2018 after starting his coaching career at Johnson City High School in New York.

Boldiis graduated from UB in 2020 with a degree in business administration (supply chain and operations management) and earned his MBA from Lakeland in 2021.
