Warhawk Men Cruise to Sixth Consecutive Win

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's basketball team won their sixth straight game with an 89-46 win over Northland College in UW-River Falls' Holiday Classic. 

In the Warhawks' final game of 2022, UWW scored the first 13 points of the contest with five players entering the scoring column less than four minutes into the game. UW-Whitewer continued to widen the gap eventually taking a 20-point lead, 39-19, by the end of the first half. 

The Warhawks shot 56-percent in the first 20 minutes while the defense held Northland to just 21-percent from the floor. 

UWW never looked back growing the lead throughout the second half with an even more impressive offensive efficiency than the first 20 minutes of action. The Warhawks shot 63-percent, 24-38, on the other side of the break bringing their game total to 60-percent from the field. NC improved to 38-percent but the Warhawk offensive could not be stopped. 

Delvin Barnstable (Sheboygan, Wis./Sheboygan Lutheran) led all players with 15 points adding five rebounds. Trevon Chislom (McFarland, Wis./McFarland) posted 14 points on 7-9 from the field and also grabbed five boards. Elijah Lambert (Racine, Wis./St. Catherine's) registered 10 points to wrap up the double digit scorers for Whitewater. Thirteen Warhawks entered the scoring column in the game. 

Drew Fisher (Oconomowoc, Wis./Oconomowoc) won the battle on the boards hauling in a game-high six rebounds. UWW dished out 17 assists in the game bolstered by three a piece from Chislom, Fisher and Cliff McCray (Madison, Wis./West)

The Warhawks return to action in the new year with a return to Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action beginning January 4.
