The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater wrestling team finished fourth in a high-powered 18-team field at the MSOE Invite Saturday. Four of the top five teams at Saturday's invite are ranked in the top 25 according to The Open Mat.
 
Ethan Pogorzelski (Menomonee Falls, Wis./Menomonee Falls) led UW-Whitewater with a runner-up finish in the 141-pound weight class. He opened the day with a pin of Triton's Ty Peterson in 1:51 before posting a major decision and close 3-1 sudden victory win. He fell to Augsburg, ranked second nationally, Sam Stuhl in the championship.
 
At 125 pounds, Tyler Klein (Hartford, Wis./Hartford Union) dropped his first bout of the invite before rattling off four wins in a row to finish third. He rolled through the left side of the bracket with 5-1, 7-2 and 7-4 decisions before pinning Augsburg's Wyatt Kaczrowski in 6:40 in the bronze match.

Evan Danowski (Waterford, Wis./Waterford Union) added a number of team points with a third-place finish at 184 pounds. After opening with a bye, Danowski advanced with a 3-0 decision over UW-Platteville's Kasey Ross. After falling in his second match, Danowski won by decision 9-4, technical fall 18-2 and by medical forfeit to set up a rematch with Ross for the bronze. Danowski took the second meeting of the two wrestlers by 5-2 decision.
 
John Fortugno (Armonk, N.Y./Byram Hills) added fifth-place points to the team total. In one of the longest days on the mat, Fortugno opened with a 15-5 major decision over Denis Murphy of UW-Oshkosh. He fell by decision and registered a pair of wins by technical fall before dropping another close decision 5-3. Fortugno finished fifth by medical forfeit.
