The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater football team hosts Aurora University in the first round of the 2022 NCAA Division III Playoffs Saturday, November 19. Kickoff in the first ever meeting between the two teams is slated for 12 p.m. at Perkins Stadium in Whitewater, Wisconsin.

The Warhawks secured a share of the program's 39th Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference title and claimed the league's automatic bid into the NCAA Division III Playoffs in record fashion last week. UW-Whitewater set a number of program records including touchdowns (11), rushing touchdowns (10) and points scored in a game with a 79-10 victory over UW-Stevens Point.

UW-Whitewater dominated in the first half behind a record performance on the ground by running back Jaylon Edmonson (Racine, Wis./Case). He had just five carries for over 100 yards rushing including four touchdowns, a mark that ties the program record for touchdowns scored by an individual in a game. The Warhawks registered 523 yards on the ground in the epic win, just 46 shy of the program record that has stood since 1987.

The Warhawks making their 15th appearance in the playoffs since 2005. UWW is 58-11 in postseason play with six national titles in program history.

Aurora University claimed their conference's automatic bid in the playoffs rolling through the Northern Athletics Collegiate

Conference with a perfect 8-0 mark. The Spartans are making their third consecutive and seventh overall appearance in the national tournament.

AU shutout Concordia University Wisconsin in their regular season finale 42-0 last week. The Spartans tallied 29 first downs posting 504 yards of offense including 333 through the air. Jhequay Chretin bolstered the offensive effort with 114 yards on 18 carries while Trey Madsen hauled in six catches for 101 yards.

UW-Whitewater is ranked eighth according to the latest d3football.com Top 25 and are eleventh in the most recent release of the American Football Coaches Association poll. Aurora is receiving votes in both polls.
