The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Warhawks stay hot from the free throw line to earn their third win of the season of Pitt-Bradford, defeating the Panthers 86-74 on the second day of the Ron Linhart Memorial Classic hosted by Heidelberg.
The Warhawks shot 11 for 14 from the charity stripe over the Panther's 3 for 8. Miles Barnstable was a perfect 5 for 5 and Elijah Lambert (Racine, Wis./St. Catherine's) made all three of his free throws.
Barnstable got started quickly, hitting a three-point shot to open up the scoreboard for Whitewater. Barnstable's three was made possible by an offensive rebound by Jameer Barker (Racine, Wis./St. Catherine's) extending the Warhawks first offensive possession. Barker also led the team with seven assists.
Barnstable finished the game with 29 total points, making 6 of 8 three-pointers. Delvin Barnstable was right behind him with 22 points, making three three-pointers of his own. Delvin Barnstable also added 10 rebounds, recording a back-to-back double-double after his 10 and 10 outing against Heidelberg.
Delvin Barnstable earned a spot on the All-Tournament team, averaging 21 points and 10 rebounds. Miles Barnstable was named as the Most Outstanding Player of the tournament, averaging 25 points and shooting a lights-out 7 for 9 from three, as well as a perfect 15 for 15 from the charity stripe.
Trevon Chislom (McFarland, Wis./McFarland) also handed in 11 of his own points, pulling down six rebounds, recording two steals.
The Panther's were led by Nathan Schneider, who had his own double-double with 21 points and 11 rebounds. Phillip Wallace also had 21 points with seven rebounds.
The Warhawks were 48-percent from the floor (31 for 65) while making 46-percent of their threes (13 for 28). The defense held the Panthers to 47-percent from the floor (30 for 64) and 42-percent from deep (11 from 26).
The Warhawks will return to the Kachel Gymnasium for their next game on Wednesday, November 16. They will take on the Flying Dutch of Hope College to open the home season. The tip off is set for 5 p.m.
