Â
Barnstable set the tone with a steal just 11 seconds in the game. He found
Trevon Chislom (McFarland, Wis./McFarland) just seconds later for the fastbreak jumper and an early lead. The Warhawk advantage hit double digits at the 13:46 mark on
Drew Fisher's (Oconomowoc, Wis./Oconomowoc) jumper and ballooned to as much as 18, 35-17, in the half.
Â
Heidelberg cut the lead to 12 but a pair of Barnstable free throws just before intermission sent UWW into halftime with a 41-27 lead.
Â
The Warhawk lead never fell below double figures the rest of the way.
Â
UW-Whitewater shot 46-percent from the floor while the defense held The Berg to 36-percent from the floor.
Â
Miles Barnstable led all players with 21 points on 5-7 from the field and then 10 free throws. Delvin Barnstable dropped in 20 on 8-10 from the floor adding ten rebounds for the double-double. He also led UWW with three steals. Chislom rounded out the double figure scorers with 14 on the night.
