The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater football team begins Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play Saturday against UW-Stout starting at 2 p.m. at Perkins Stadium. Saturday's game is also the football program's Alumni Day.

The Warhawks closed out the non-conference slate with a 3-0 record thanks to a 39-7 win against No. 25 Berry (Ga.) at Perkins Stadium, the team's second straight victory against a nationally-ranked opponent, on Sept. 18. UW-Whitewater took a 30-0 lead into halftime thanks to a 24-point second quarter that included 17 points in the final two minutes of the period. The Warhawks outgained the Vikings 450-187 and held the ball for more than 32 minutes in the contest.

UW-W is also third in the latest American Football Coaches Association Division III Coaches' Poll, picking up 1,087 points from panelists. The team was ranked second in the Lindy's Sports Preseason Division III Top 25 and fourth by College Football America.

UW-Stout is also off to a 3-0 start entering conference play thanks to a 45-14 win at UW-Stevens Point in a non-conference game on Sept. 18. The Blue Devils, who led 28-6 at halftime, totaled 477 yards of offense, including 251 on the ground, and recorded four sacks and three interceptions defensively to keep the Pointers in check.
