No. 11 Volleyball Sweeps Home Triangular

The No. 11 ranked University of Wisconsin-Whitewater volleyball team remained unbeaten for the regular season Saturday with two non-conference wins at Russell Arena, improving to 6-0 for the year on its home floor.
 
The Warhawks (8-0 overall) topped 25th-ranked Concordia Wisconsin 25-15, 25-18, 23-25, 25-15 before capping the day with a 25-14, 25-8, 25-22 victory against North Central (Ill.).
 
Following the conclusion of the triangular, Erin McNeil (Crystal Lake, Ill./Prairie Ridge) and Morgan Wardall (Merrill, Wis./Merrill) were named to the All-Tournament Team.
 
In the opener against the Falcons (3-3), UW-Whitewater doubled up CUW in hitting percentage (.207-.101) and posted 10 service aces in the match.
 
Jenna Weinfurt (Waukesha, Wis./Catholic Memorial) tallied a team-high 11 kills and added four digs. McNeil recorded seven kills, two blocks and three digs, while Wardall collected seven kills on a .429 hitting percentage to go with a team-best six blocks. Kirsten Anderson (Sun Prairie, Wis./Sun Prairie) finished with seven kills, two service aces, four blocks and three digs.
 
Baylie Hansen (Bonduel, Wis./Shawano) contributed six kills, five blocks and five digs, and Emma Aske (Aurora, Ill./Metea Valley) added six kills, three blocks and nine digs.
 
KellyAnn Sotiros (New Berlin, Wis./West Allis Hale) generated a team-high five aces and added 19 assists and seven digs. Paige Manssen (Bull Valley, Ill./McHenry West) finished with 17 assists and seven digs.
 
Morgan Jensen (Sun Prairie, Wis./Sun Prairie) led the defense with 19 digs to go with two service aces and three assists. Hailey Mackenthun (Webster, Minn./Northfield) posted eight digs.
 
Against North Central (4-3), the UW-W defense held the Cardinals to a minus-.022 hitting percentage.
 
Weinfurt paced the offense with 13 kills to go with two blocks. McNeil hit a .462 and totaled seven kills and two blocks, and Aske finished with seven kills on a .429 hitting percentage and added six digs.
 
Wardall hit .500 on 10 attacks for five kills while adding three blocks and three digs. Manssen tallied a team-high 16 assists with three digs, and Sotiros collected 13 assists, nine digs and two service aces.
 
Jensen tallied eight digs, three assists and a team-high four service aces.
 
UW-Whitewater returns to Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play Tuesday as it visits No. 12 UW-Eau Claire. First serve is set for 7 p.m.
