Tyler Martin and Whitney Williams have joined the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater's sports medicine staff as athletic trainers, Director of Sports Medicine
Steve Hillmer announced.
Martin will work primarily with the UW-Whitewater men's soccer, men's cross country, wrestling and baseball teams, while Williams will work primarily with football, women's track and field and gymnastics at UW-W.
Martin joins the Warhawks from the University of Wisconsin-Parkside, where he served as Associate Athletic Trainer from 2019-21 and Assistant Athletic Trainer from 2014-19. His primary sport assignments at Parkside included volleyball, wrestling, softball and baseball. In addition to his day-to-day sports medicine responsibilities, Martin served as the sports medicine contact in wrestling for the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference.
Martin also instructed courses in the health, exercise science and sport management department at Parkside in 2014-15.
Martin earned his bachelor's in athletic training from Carroll University in 2009 and his master's in teaching from Rockford University in 2011.
Williams comes to UW-Whitewater after serving as Assistant Athletic Trainer at Albion College in Albion, Mich., from 2018-21. She worked primarily with the men's soccer, women's soccer, men's basketball, softball, men's tennis and women's tennis teams. In 2019, Williams implemented a mental health program in Albion's athletic department.
Williams served as a guest lecturer in the kinesiology department's sports medicine classes. She also coordinated social media campaigns for athletic training services.
Williams graduated from the Winona State University in 2015 with a degree in athletic training. She earned her master's in kinesiology and recreation with emphasis in athletic training from Illinois State University in 2018.
