Basketball

Madson, Collin

Men’s Basketball – Collin Madson – Junior – Guard – Mukwonago, Wis./Mukwonago

Collin Madson led all scorers with 24 points in the Warhawks’ home-opener win over Aurora University last week. The junior guard was an efficient 7-for-10 from the field with three three-pointers as well as a near-perfect 7-for-8 from the charity stripe. Defensively, Madson pulled down six rebounds and recorded two steals.

Rittmeyer, Renee

Women’s Basketball: Renee Rittmeyer – Senior – Guard – Winnebago, Ill./Winnebago

Renee Rittmeyer led UW-Whitewater to a 73-62 win over Carroll University last week. Rittmeyer shot 80%, hitting 8-10 from the floor including a 3-4 mark from three-point range. She registered a double-double with 21 points and 11 rebounds in the contest. Six of her 11 rebounds were on the offensive glass. Rittmeyer added four steals, three assists and a block in the game.

Swim & Dive

Weis, Caleb

Men's Swim: Caleb Weis – Junior – Burlington, Wis./Burlington

Caleb Weis was the Warhawks’ top scorer at the Luther Invite over the weekend. He won the 500 freestyle with a time of 4:47.94 – ranked second in the WIAC this season. Weis also claimed gold in the 1650 freestyle registering a league-leading time of 16:41.15. He posted the sixth-fastest time in the WIAC in the prelims of the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:48.79 before finishing sixth in the finals. Weis was also a member of the fourth-place 800 freestyle relay squad.

Schmitz, Drew

Men's Dive: Drew Schmitz – Junior – Appleton, Wis./North

Drew Schmitz placed fourth with an 11-dive total of 375.40 at the Luther Invite. He added a fourth-place finish off the three-meter board with a score of 320.50.

Vogel, Hailey

Women's Swim: Hailey Vogel – Freshman – Rockwell City, Iowa/Fort Dodge

Hailey Vogel was the top scorer for the Warhawks at the Luther Invite. She registered the top time in the WIAC to win the 100 breaststroke – 1:05.52, a mark that ranks third in program history. She posted the second-fastest 100 freestyle time in the league this season – 54.12 – in the prelims before finishing eighth in the finals. Vogel’s 50 freestyle time of 24.98 was seventh at the meet and is tied for sixth in the conference this season. Additionally, she was a member of the 200 medley relay (second place), 200 freestyle relay (third place), 400 freestyle relay (fourth place) and 400 medley relay (sixth place).

Santiago, Olivia

Women's Dive: Olivia Santiago – Freshman – Auburn, Cal./Placer

In her first 11-dive competition ever, Olivia Santiago took 12th place on the 1-meter board with a score of 352.55. On the 3-meter board she took 8th place with a score of 353.30. Her score on 1-meter now ranks 9th all-time for Warhawks, and her score on 3-meter also ranks 9th all-time for Warhawks.

Wrestling

Lewis, Jordan

Wrestling: Jordan Lewis – Senior – 285 – Woodridge, Ill./Downers Grove North

Jordan Lewis had a great showing on the mat last week for the Warhawks. He was narrowly edged by #9 Matt Coon of TCNJ falling by 2-1 decision in a mid-week dual. Lewis capped the week going 5-1 to finish third at the CUW Open. Lewis opened the tournament with a 2-0 decision over Adrian’s Blake Daniels. In the second round, Lewis won by fall over Concordia Wisconsin’s Samuel Smith in just 1:51. After falling in sudden victory to Dubuque’s #8 Justin Matson, Lewis defeated Mike Milovich (Elmhurst) by 4-3 decision, Chicago’s Edward Perry by 2-0 decision and finally North Central’s Luke Chrisse in the third-place bout by 8-0 major decision.
